On this website Casablanca had ultimately high ratings. The movie definitely caught my attention and its only right for this movie to have great reviews. Casablanca if I had to describe it would be smooth film due to the great acting.

While observing this picture in my eyes I saw like a James Bond kind of effect. Every character was suave in there own way, also I feel as though that brought uniqueness to the movie as well. Except the cops but the movie overall was good, also to add what other vibes I was  getting this picture reminded me of the character from the hit The Happy Days “Phonzi”.

Citizen Kane

Citizen Kane was directed and starred by Orson Willis at the age of 24. The film Citizen was released in 1941. This film was almost never going to be shown do to the commercial failure. Citizen became the #1 all time film in 1990by the American film institute. In 1942 Citizen Kane was nominated for nine academy awards. However befor the gory it was almost burned by the Rko. This master piece won best writing and original careen play.

This article about Citizen Kane primarily gives us the viewers synopsis about the film.
Also it shows the compassion to William Randolph Hearst.
The relationship between the article and the screening was pin point accurate.

Citizen Kane is a well depicted film of William R. Hearst. It amazed me personally because it seemed as if I saw myself as Hearst. In some ways I could relate to the him but overall the film was astonishing.

Gone with The Wind

Gone with the wind was the highest grossed American film. The origin of the Gone with the wind was a novel before the movie was released in1939. The novel was written in 1936 by Margaret Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell sold the rights to her book for $50.000 after taking her a total of ten years to write the novel. David Selznick bought Gone with the wind from Mrs. Mitchell. The budget on this film was 3.9 million dollars. This film became the longest movie it is 3 hours and 44 minutes long.

I found this article on tcm.com this article is basically gives the immediate cast. Also Leonard Maltin gave the movie 4 stars .The article gives the over view of the movie. Scarlett Ohara is in love with Ashley Wilkes but is angry by the fact that he’s is going to marry his cousin Melonia.

This article has 4 stars, the critics Leonard Maltin is well known. Mr. Maltin has been a critic for many years so his creditability is good when it comes to movies. It is obvious that Gone with the wind is a classic, because I personally read the book while I was in high school so its’clearly evaluated through some institutions.

I appreciate great novels followed by great movies because this sets a standard. All the modern day movies is influenced from this film. For example the Note Book, Titanic, etc.

Stage Coach

Stage Coach is a John Ford film released in 1939. In this era John Ford won 4 Directors awards in his career. Some speculated that Stage Coach was the best American film. Ford gave off the impression that his film interest was making western films, military films and also social dramas. Ford took a risky chance on filming western films because his peers said it will ruin his career. Ford actually had lady luck on his side and it turned out good for him. In Stage Coach Ford illustrated acing drama and humor. The majority of the movie the stage coach venture from Toronto, to New Mexico deep into Landsburg. Passengers consist inside was an alcoholic doctor, two women, bank manager, who robbed his clients. These passengers faced obstacles through Geronimo attacks.

Ford brought back some light to the western movies and by that gave hope after filming stage coach in 1939. Ford and Dudley Nicholas which was the screen writer examined the balance and the traits of each character to produce a mega hit film. The film was best remembered for its beautiful images and powerful characters.

Ford despite the odds took western film and gave life and made stage coach a great American film. Ford intertwined Geronimo’s barbarians and civilized beings. Through out the movie another significant character the emerged was John Wayne.

After watching this film I have to say its’ proving to be the American greats western movie. This movie displayed our primitive state before we all evolved into civilization. This film made me appreciate how civilization gave everyone structure.

The Gold Rush

The Gold Rush, is a silent film that was made in 1925. Charlie Chaplin directed as well as starred in his own movie. In some people opinion, Chaplin was proclaimed to be the best filmmaker of his generation. Even though the movie was silent, the actors clearly made it obvious to the audience what they couldn’t say. All though this was Chaplin starring, directing, this film the budget was a subtotal of $923000. Also from the views and perspective, the film is the longest movie yet. The silent film ran for a hour long.

The scenery of the Gold Rush started in Alaska with people finding interest in Klondike Gold Rush. The “Tramp” played by Chaplin was a individual that was a loner. As time passed on the Tramp and a man by the name “Big Jim” played by Mack Swain, “Black Larsin” played by a man name Tom Murray which was a fugitive. The Fugitives end up dying from falling off the cliff, the Tramp gives up on prospecting and makes the decision of leaving for the Gold Rush town. Tramp found work by looking after cabins, ultimately meeting the right woman and falling in love. The young woman played as “Georgia” by Georgia Hale.

On New Years Eve Georgia and the Tramp had a date set, but ultimately she is not present. Only due to the fact that the Tramp thinks Georgia has falling in love with him because of the letter but that wasn’t the case. On a brighter side the Tramp and Big Jim actually make out to become rich. The Tramp first action was to find Georgia and share his happiness with her.

The Gold Rush provided comedy, emotional dramatic moments this was Chaplin “bread and Butter”. This film displayed a lonely individual that magnified romantic traits from a males perspective.

                                                            Analysis

This Film for me was great due to the fact it high lighted that people can communicate in nonverbally and still speak loud with any words. Also I picked up on the comedy through out the movie and I understood the emotional/Romantic aspect as well. Although the words were silent it made me evaluate everything so I can get a sense of what’s going on.
